Birdwatching
You might be surprised to know that the island of Kos is favoured by migratory birds and features three important ecosystems that attracts our feathered friends, plus a birdwatching tower and protected area right next to the Kipriotis Village. Lake Psalidi not far from town attracts flamingos and rare ducks. Autumn will see birds on the lake such as the Lesser kestrel, Slender-billed curlew, Reddy shelduck, and Long-legged buzzard. The Aliki wetlands in the area of Tigaki on the coast represent another important area for birds.
